Back to running

Hello all- I completed C25K earlier in the year and then built up gradually to 10K for a couple of charity runs in the summer. Then decided that I would concentrate on HIIT sessions, kettle bells etc. to keep myself motivated through the winter. However, I'm missing the running! The endorphin hit of a run isn't matched by the classes I do, so back out on the streets this evening. I'm aiming to start slowly to avoid any major setbacks- week 4 of C25K this evening. We moved house recently, so new territory to explore. Will update tomorrow! Happy running everyone.

  • Enjoy your run this evening. Good idea to go back to week four, I did the same thing after six weeks of no runs due to injury (not a running injury!). Best of luck

  • You've obviously got a good base-level of fitness so I don't imagine it will take you long to build up your runs! There's nothing like a good run outside, is there?

  • It was great! Nice and cold with plenty of Christmas lights to admire (or not, in some cases!). Forgot how much I liked it.

  • Thanks! Just looked ahead to week 5 and really looking forward to the 20 minute run again. Didn't feel like that first time round- I remember the feeling of dread! That's part of the joy- thinking of how much progress I've made. You don't get the same feeling with a class, I find.
