Two months ago, reached 25 mins (R7,3?) and was feeling chuffed - but shoulder and then back problems. Coupled with darker and colder mornings, meant everything has fizzled out.
Last run was probably a month ago - and was inevitably remedial. Managed the normal loop, but not without a couple of walking bits.
So, here's the thing... I really need to get back on track and definitely want to finish the programme, but getting going again is so hard!
....I'm thinking tomorrow might be a good time to start, but I suspect by then I will have gone off the idea. And if I do run, it will probably feel horrid. I need to get past this - it will not get better by sitting here!
If you also got stuck st some point but made it in the end, what was the thing that finally got you off the couch again and kept you going?
I would say lots of us have been there, the IC is no fun and just the thought of how to resume running is enough to put you off!
But remember this: you had already come SO far, why stop now? You know you can do it, so tell those gremlins to shove off and just go through the motions of getting ready. By the time you've laced up your shoes... Well, it would be rude not to, wouldn't it?!
Roll yourself back to a week you felt comfortable and just give it a go. Any run (any effort!) is better than no run at all. Think of how proud you'll feel when you return from your efforts!
Come on, remember why you started this and just put one foot in front of the other... You can do this!
Thank you - I wimped out this weekend and walked instead of running, but your post has spurred me on. Will definitely get my trainers in before the week is out!
