To the cyclist who passed me on the towpath this morning saying 'you're doing great' - thank you 😊

Wow, run 3 of week 6 in the bag and those gremlins were *really* hanging onto my legs weighing them down for the first 15 minutes until they realised this was the new way of things and finally left! Was pushing through the last five minutes and didn't realise a cyclist was behind me - I even just wear one earphone to try to keep aware but failed today. However as he passed he said 'you're doing great', I'm not sure if he was a c25k-er who recognised the c25k shuffle or just being kind but made my day and got me through the last bit ☺️

Bless you Laura for saying I'm a runner, I'm not so sure... Maybe more becoming master of the towpath trot πŸ˜‚

Well done. Those legs don't like the habit of sitting on comfy couches sometimes. Suddenly being asked to run can be a shock to the poor things !

When I cycle and see a runner I always give a thumbs up now ! Before I started C25K I probably thought to myself "Mo Farah needn't worry about that one" (I'm ashamed to say now). I think any encouragement has an effect . I usually had dog walkers saying "My dog will never catch you". Even if it may have been in jest. I can run slower than some dogs can walk when I want to !

If Laura say your a runner then you had better believe it ! Well done.

Laura telling me I'm a runner had me grinning like an idiot in the middle of a parkrun. One of the proudest moments of my life.

Congratulations on completing week 6! No matter how slow you're going, you're still lapping everybody chilling on their couch.

Ah that's nice. Sometimes an encouraging word comes just at the perfect time. I was once offered a drink by a passing cyclist who feared I was about to expire. That was back on C25k and I was flagging on the trail. Bless im!

You are doing great! Tell yourself that after each run. You deserve a pat on the back. Keep going, slow but sure. Steady is fine. You'll be at the finish line. Not far to go now!

Have fun!

Thank you πŸ‘πŸ» I'm fluctuating between elation, wanting to lay down, and eating a big ol' piece of humble pie!! For years I've quietly scoffed at people who rave about exercise for exercise sake while I've been sitting on the sofa scoffing toast or crisps... I used to do a lot of ballet until I had to give up in my mid teens, 30 years later and probably more than 30kg later had tried the gym, cycling, yoga, Zumba but nothing inspired me to stick with it. This though for me has been magic πŸ˜€ Just goes to show there's something out there for everyone, you just have to find it πŸ’ͺ🏻

Lovely man! And well done for kicking those gremlins in to touch - there is definately a mental battle and it sounds like you're winning! Good luck!πŸ™‚

This morning I met one of the dogwalkers who stopped to cheer me as I finished my very first C5K run all those weeks ago (17th June, not that I'm counting!). She asked me for an update as I have seen her from time to time although I don't often run in the park now, it is too small.

I am grateful for the encouragement they gave me on my first day. Such a boost.

Yay! You're a runner, if Laura says you are, then yes, you are! How lovely to get encouragement from the cyclist, what a boost!
