A really good trick

I wanted to share the trick one experienced runner gave me: when running on a hill instead of slowing or put to much effort keep the same cadence just take smaller pace. Works beautifully and much better for knees 😀

*Steps not pace

I'm French and my English is terrible when tired. Night everyone!

It is good advice.

Furthermore, by leaning into the hill slightly and ensuring that the feet don’t heel strike, momentum will be maintained as the hill is climbed.

When descending, lean back slightly to avoid over-striding and to ensure the legs and feet don’t run away with themselves.

I usually avoid hills if I can help it, but thanks for the tip, I will try it one day.

Yep. It works. My physio told me to try more uphills to take some of the pressure off my shins (when I had shin splint). The mantra as you go up is to keep saying to yourself "small steps, "small steps" til you get to the top

What are you running ‘tricks’? ✨

And also smiling when things get tough out on a run - I think this was a trick of Eliud Kipchoge?!
