Done it!!! My graduation run!!

I have found it hard, all the way through - I haven't missed a single run, but I have kind of doubted my ability to do every single one... I feel a bit cross with myself now, retrospectively, that I couldn't believe a bit more in myself.. :( .. cos I DID it!! :)

It sure does!! I've wanted to try running for years & several years ago tried jog for Scotland but felt self concious as they were faster & felt a failure & gave up!! I did this running solo part from a friend who did it with me in another town though but we kept texting to keep each other going😊this forum was a godsend for me as they all kept me going no matter how slow!! We are all champions today🌟👏👍🏃🌟 and wow it feels great!! What's your next aim? Mines to get to 5k and maybe make that befor my 60yrsyoung next july😂😂keep on running everyone🏃🏃🏃🏃🏃🏃🏃x

There is a park run every Saturday in my town so I might try and do that, although I don't think I'm quite ready as it is 5k and I doubt I'm running that far in 30 mins yet.

So, like you, I want to get to 5k and then probably have a crack at the park run!

I got a new bike a few weeks ago but because of the running, I haven't really done much with it, so that might keep me busy too!

O it's funny I just bought lights for my bike as I thought it might help with building stamina!! Great minds think alike😊😊x

This forum has been a godsend for me too. My friends quickly tired of me updating them every other day so chatting with like minded people has been invaluable

It's all rather confusing - I made it so much harder for myself by doubting myself, I can see that now. I feel like I have a lot to think about

Thank you for your nice message x

Congratulations!!!🍾🍾🍾 Fab news!!! 🎉🎉🎉 Maybe you can reward yourself with some kind words/thoughts to yourself now! I'm still not there yet and I won't quite believe it's possible until I've done it either! Hopefully I'lol join you as a graduate 🎓 very soon. Keep up the great work.

What a lovely message - I do feel proud - but a bit confused, because I don't know why I made it harder for myself the whole way through by doubting whether I could do it, When I didn't walk a single step that I should have run and ran every day that I planned to and completed it in about 9 and a half weeks...

So, I hope I can take more from this than just the medal... :/

Honestly, if I can do this, then I absolutely know that you can x

Shainathecheetah , you have to believe in yourself because you really did do it - you assumed you couldn't and you've proved yourself wrong with every single step. You have achieved the physical success of C25k, but still need a little work on the mental attitude. Wrap up the feeling of success and put it in your pocket. Next time you think you can't do something , look in that pocket, put a smug smile on your face and repeat ' I CAN do this' - the louder the better ☺️☺️☺️

Your kind and thoughtful words have made tears come to my eyes... thank you so much for taking the time to write them.

I will really really try xx

I think for some of us, making things harder for ourselves with self doubt is just a habit we've got ourselves into over many years. One of the many great things about c25k is, we now KNOW that we can create new habits that we never dreamed possible!!!! Thanks so much for your words of encouragement, I really appreciate it.

Congratulations Shainathecheetah ! Amazing! Well done :) The sky's the limit now. Onward and onward some more. :) :) :)

Oh and cheers too🍸🍹🎉🎈🎓🎈🎉🍹🍸Happy Graduation!

And don't worry about the doubting, it takes a while to appreciate what you've accomplished and what you're capable of. I still get nervous before every run!

Enjoy your running :)
