Week 9 not as expected...

Understatement really. My father was taken seriously ill last week so I was staying near the hospital the day I was going to do Run 1. I decided to do it anyway that morning as I'd feel better sitting in the hospital if I'd had some exercise. He died later that morning. Then 2 days later I had to pick up his will from a small seaside town - same principle of needing exercise plus never having run at the seaside encouraged me to do that too. Had to manage without Laura and I did miss her so that's something to think about for when I graduate. So, when I graduate... I've had a couple of rest days so am debating whether to go for doing Week 9 Run 3 on the way to discuss funeral arrangements. It would be a definite yes because I know it would help how I feel, but I have a slight cold and may hit a lot of traffic on the way there so will wait to see how I feel tomorrow.

Oh I am so sorry to hear of your loss, Orchards, that is so so sad.

You must do whatever you feel is right for you, at this time.

My deepest sympathy to you xxx

My condolences. At least this programme made you physically and mentally tougher. You'll need that now. Hang on.

Very sorry for your loss. Things must be so painful and a lot of uncertainty right now. Your Dad would surely want you to be kind and gentle to yourself so run or not run, whichever is best for your peace of mind. Again, sincere sympathy to you.

What a sad week. If running helps, do it. It does offer a good opportunity for deep thinking, which may or may not help in your situation. Only you will know. Best wishes.

What a sad week for you and so sorry to hear about your Dad. I've had what I thought was a shite week but you have put it into perspective. Look after yourself and, as someone who has just started the continuous runs (next up is W7R2), if the running helps, do it, but be kind to yourself; if you don't feel up to it on the day it's not an issue. Big hugs, C

Oh big hugs and sympathy at this tough time. Glad you feel the running helps a bit.

So sorry for your loss Orchards, I have just been through similar and I was at exactly the same stage as you, running through my grief has helped me immensly, it should have been my graduation run last Friday, the day of Dad's funeral, I had every intention of doing it but then just couldn't face it when the time came. Be kind to yourself, if you are getting a cold then rest, an experience like this can give our immune system a good excuse to go into meltdown, I have had a sore throat and a coldsore since Saturday so I am being sensible. Take care of yourself Orchards xx

So sorry for your loss, too, dingdongthewitch. True but annoying about immune systems - I hope yours manages to kick the sore throat and cold sore out quickly so you can enjoy your graduation run. Take care of yourself, too x
