Well, that was tough. It was cold, it was windy, I'd have preferred to start tomorrow but I'm not around to finish on Friday, but I did it. My tight calves, that I thought I'd got past, are back with a vengeance. My right knee hurts - I'd blame it on cartilage trouble but that was removed in 1984 - but I did it. I'm knackered, but I did it (have I already said that I did it?)

Anyway, the beauty of coming on here is that people get where you're coming from - you've either been through it or you're having similar experiences in the early weeks. If I go to work tomorrow and try and qualify how I feel by saying that I had to run for three continuous minutes, twice, they'll be like, 'gosh, that's just like that bloke that ran 401 marathons in 401 days, no wonder you're tired. Idiot'. So, sorry folks, but it's quite likely I'll be boring you for at least a few more weeks.

Thanks Poppy - I am doing stretches but probably not properly so I'll hunt for some stuff. And this forum really is great - I'd have probably already quit thinking that I just couldn't do it, but reading what others have to say made me realise that what I'm feeling is just the same as loads of people felt before me.

Thanks Jacs - I am doing rest days, but left two between weeks 1& 2, and was only able to leave one between weeks 2 & 3. 'Fighting fit' may be pushing it, but I already feel much better than I did a couple of weeks ago 😊

Go for it. I did exactly the same. Week 4 took me two weeks to 'pass' and some of my younger work colleagues could do W4 R3 blindfolded, walking on their hands whilst singing opera.........

Hey I've bored loads of people on here :-) they take in in good humour! And it does get easier as the weeks go by. Keep posting the highs and hopefully hardly any lows.

Nobody bores anyone.. all in it together... all shapes, all sizes, all speeds.... it is what makes us totally awesome!

Don't worry your not boring us . I think I may have got the gong for boring posts , 2 gongs if you count "Mr Baggy Pants".

I am semi retired now but at work would probably get similar comments. Anyway well done you did it. I always say when started I couldn't run for a bus but now (this is actually true) In Birmingham I would have actually beat the bus home ! I used to cycle to work but wish I'd done this C25K earlier !

Yes.. many of us have been there and felt just like you :)

You are not boring anyone.. you are doing just fine... rest up and then, you know the form.. steady and slow and carry on regardless... ( isn't that a song ) ? :)x

Accentuate the positive, eliminate the negative, latch on to the affirmative and don't mess with Mister Inbetween, as the song goes 😊

You can tell us all about your runs til you're blue in the face. It's all grist to the mill for us cos we get it. You won't need to mention it to your colleagues again til you casually remark that you are lining up for the local half marathon 😊

Keep turning out for those runs, slow is fine, just finishing each session is all that's required ☺
