Lost - 1x large bundle of recent motivation. Last seen 2 days ago in a small woodland not far from Lincoln. Reward of large amount of self satisfaction to the finder upon its return. If found please return before this evening when it is desperately needed before my Wk8 Day2 run - Thanks in anticipation, Rob

Having just done Wk 8 Run 1 very slowly actually I'm quite optimistic about Thursday's run (Run 2) so let me help you here...

If you've gone straight through this programme, you've already done 22 runs, if you've had practice runs then you may have done lots more or at least a few more than that. You only have 5 more runs to go on this programme and you'll be done. You'll get 'graduate' after your name on here and we'll all read your wise words and take lots of notice of what you say. Quite rightly too, because you'll have done what we're all trying to do!

You will have proved wrong all those 'naysayers' and you'll feel better than you have in weeks, months (and possibly years). You'll be in a position to keep going for all the right reasons because you will have already conquered the challenge of the 9 week programme.

Don't give up now. The end is definitely in sight - and if I can do it (and surprisingly, it seems that I can!) I'm certain that you can.

I'll be trying the same run tonight in about two hours. If I find anything out there I'll bring it back for you!

(Currently 35 degrees, dropping to 34 - oh dear!).

Oh dear Rob, what happened a couple of days ago?

All I can suggest is that you look back at why you started this in the first place and how far you've come. Such a lot to be proud of - what has suddenly changed? You're so close to graduating now and then you can mix it up a bit and experiment with different things.

Read a few posts on here - that always inspires! Try a new route.

Once you get your kit on you'll feel more like it - go on, you know you want to....

Might be the weather .. it's nicer running when it's nice ..

Ah but it's much cooler now - makes for better running!

Whats going on here then ?

Ah come on Rob , I found your motivation, it was hanging on the washing line with your running gear :-)

You gotta see this through, we will be around to yours later rattling on your letterbox :-) xxx

Just seem to have lost that " oh I can't wait to go running urge " that I have had every day for the last 7 weeks or so ... After a little bit of self analysis this morning it might be because I'm near the end and I have enjoyed it so much I'm concerned that without the structure of c25k I might go off the track so to speak .. I prefer structure and order ..

I understand what you mean about structure and order - I am now trying to think through what I am going to do next. You could try setting yourself a new goal; I think the next quest might start in a few weeks which should coincide with your graduation. You mentioned finding a running partner; there is a "people near me" feature on here, which might help. Alternatively, you will just have to run back to that wood and find your motivation!

Ah I see ......

Yep, very normal , but there is always the C25K+podcasts after . Try not to worry about after, you've still got another 5 runs to do here , that will keep you going for a bit ! :-) xxx

Hello! Come on own up, who is this posting under Rob's sign in? I know it is an imposter as the Rob we know is so up for this. Blooming gremlins get everywhere!

Rob I know what you mean, I needed to have a grasp of what I would do next too. Once I had decided on a plan I felt much more positive 👍🏼 Why not take a look at my earlier post and see the plan I did for myself, perhaps there is something in it to spur you in to developing your own future plan which may be just what you need to re-motivate 😃🏃🏻

Keep us posted runner!

Oh, @RobD, what a shock to read your post :( . I am having a major attack of the gremlins at the mo, we need to just get out there and kick their little a***s. I'm going out tonight for Week8, r1 and am dreading it, despite having done week7r3 ok last outing. It doesn't help that I bashed my toe really hard against the leg of my bed this morning and now it is swollen and purple (the toe, not the bedleg, it's sitting there all woody and smug). Anyway, I walked up to work earlier and it didn't hurt going up the hill, so do I need to run 28 minutes uphill tonight? I sincerely hope not. And it's muggy and drizzly here, the worst weather for running :(

Moan over. We can do it, @RobD. Get your mojo back and inspire us all :)

Well from where I am week 8 isn't really much harder than week 7 .. it's only 3 minutes extra after all .. anyway, by the sounds of your toe if you are walking up hill with it then running " should " be ok I reckon .. you don't get to use that as an excuse if I don't get to cry off as I have temporarily lost my mojo :) see you back here for a mutual update ?

Forgive me for recycling an old comment I made to a fellow-runner of ours who had also lost his mojo - hope this helps you though, he said ti helped him...

"Your Mojo is behind the ominous front door of your dwelling place Aaron. You have to lace on the shoes of effort, don the clothes of aspiration, turn on the magic box containing within itself all things Laura, adjust the headband of endurance...and wield the mental sword named 'Gremlin Slayer'.

Or just suit up in your running gear and turn the door handle and see what happens then. :) It's not about perfection - its about attempting ;)

Oh I'll have a look in the Stixwould area - might be amongst the squished snails and other road kill. If I find it, it's yours 🤔🐌

One thing is for certain: you won't find it at home, so get your blooming trainers on and get out there to find it. The longer you wait, the more the doubt and the guilt are reinforced. So talk to yourself like you would to your own best friend, and get to the end of the programme. And imagine telling the you who set out on run one, week one, that you have got this far and lost your motivation. I suspect that the previous you will not be impressed and will try to make you eat your trainers, without ketchup.
