W7R2: benefits of being overweight

My app told me that I've managed to burn 563 calories. Imagine running with 70-pound bag on your shoulders. And I did it for 25 minutes over few hills on my route. Aaand I passed 4.25K while doing it, including warm-up and cool-down. Now picture doing it without that bag, I would probably be flying. Someone please stop me! πŸ˜†πŸ˜†πŸ˜†

My PB for pace, distance, and time from what began with choir of gremlins telling me not to do it. Oh, and first time in weeks I wasn't feeling sick after the run.

Lol, I wondered what it was. I was imagining big dog or something. I wish you speedy recovery, I had the bug few weeks ago and resting is best you can do for yourself.

I actually got up an hour or after posting and did W7R2 so just 1 run behind now. All the posts I was reading really motivated me. Felt so much better after my fun - great start to the day. Then had poached egg, mushrooms and spinach for breakfast. Feeling virtuous πŸ˜‡. I seem to be losing a pound a week - slow and steady - much like my running.

That thought - the one about how it would feel to run without the excess weight - is what got me started on weight loss right after graduation in May. I have now lost 10-11 kg and my running has improved immensely. I am going to get rid of another 3-4 kg, that will bring me down to my ideal weight.

Good luck on your journey wherever it takes you.

Thanks, that's encouraging. I still have to see any weight loss. I guess it comes when I start putting more miles into it.

I didn't lose any weight until I changed my eating habits. I count caloriesπŸ˜‰

I did count calories in the beginning, first few weeks and against all odds I actually gained weight. Then I stopped counting and actually haven't lost or gained anything. I think there is certain amount of time for the body to adapt, redistributing and binding water with the muscles. With sensible diet and continuous running it has to start burning that fat eventually.

Well done! I'm running with a lot of extra weight. I'm hoping regular sensible running will help me shed a little of it. Until then, it's helping me exercise! ;)
