Hi. I'm proud of myself. So I wanted to share in case anyone out there needs encouragement.

I'm 55 and 5 years ago I was diagnosed with my second cancer, breast cancer. It had spread to my lymph nodes. I had a double mastectomy and reconstruction. Lost my job, got divorced, gained 3 stone. My health got worse as I couldn't walk up stairs without gasping for breath. Then in February I said enough!

I joined a weight loss group - lost 2 1/2 stone and then started running. It took me ten weeks to run 5K but I did it last week (twice) and although it took me 46 and 42 minutes each time to complete I felt amazing.

I can't wait for my next run (it's this morning) - I'm hooked and loving being fit and healthy again.

Hey, you can do it. You know you can. The hardest part, I find, is getting my butt out the door. Once I get out and after the first 10 minutes I'm feeling grand.

Well done you! You have had such a lot to deal with there and my heart goes out to you. Really, well done for taking life by the scruff of the neck as you have. Lesser mortals would have thrown in the towel.

Congratulations on your weight loss! Having less of you to cart around does make a heck of a difference doesn't it ☺ I love going to my WW class every week. Make sure you go regularly and stay to class! I think that really helps. As does running of course! You're going great guns 😊

Have you discovered Parkrun yet? ☺

Thank you Miss Wobble :) I know about Parkrun but I work on a Saturday morning so I need to wait until I have a Saturday morning off. It will happen. In the meantime, I'm going to train for a 10K. Losing the weight has been my lifesaver. It has made a huge difference in how I feel.

10k training is proper good fun. We have podcasts here y'know! C25k+ with good old Laura and Bridge to 10 k with the kick-ass Samantha Murphy

Yeah, the podcasts are excellent. I used them most of my way through the 9 weeks. Just got myself a Garmin watch (the basic Forerunner 10 which I love) so that I could keep stats without carrying my phone and using headphones.

You are amazing !!🌟🌟
