Playing the glad game 😊

Good morning lovely people 😊

I have only managed to fit in 2 runs this week, being back at work is proving a challenge on my time and energy, but am hoping that i have readjusted now and will try for 3! I am also playing the 'glad game' and remembering the 4 mths ago 'only 2 runs' would be considered a miracle!!!

I think work, subtle change of season and actually finishing the program have all contributed to me feeling a little bit lost- but I need to shake that feeling - glad game no2 - less sweat, no more Julie

I've just been out for my run this morning and I feel great! That's what I need to remember!!! 😊

I'm a long way from 5k, so have decided that this will be my next challenge. The furthest I've run until today was 3.2k, so today I used distance rather than time for my run and set my target at 3.5k. I managed that with only an additional 3 mins of running 😊. My personal challenge is to hit 5k by the end of October.

Now that I am running without the comfort blanket of the lovely Laura, I am rediscovering music I haven't listened to for ages.( Glad game 😊)This mornings companion was the great Dolly Parton. She may not be everyone's cup of tea, but listening to her lyrics as I ran along, I appreciate her talent for telling a story. Nor could I stop myself from joining in with 'Jolene' far too loudly!!!

Have a lovely Sunday everyone. Thank you for reading my ramblings and if you get chance, play your own glad game today 😘😘😘

Great post and completely understand the feeling lost thing. Just how I am feeling! Sounded like a great run and who doesn't like a bit of Dolly 😍 πŸ˜ƒ

I'm glad I'm not alone lightweightkate . I guess it's a similar feeling to reaching a weight loss target for a specific thing ( in my case it was my brothers wedding) and when I'd hit it, and attended the wedding, accepted the compliments etc, I lost momentum and put it all back on! I need to keep going because I like the feeling, I like the me that runs, I still smile when I say 'I'm just off out for a run☺️'. We can do this - with or without Dolly πŸ˜‰

Enjoying the running is so important - if it helps you to rediscover your music, all the better.

Playing ' the glad game' :) hit my ten stone goal yesterday.. and was amazed to see 9st 13lbs thismorning... rediscovering a fit me.. not seen since... well... lets say... too long to remember!

Love a dolly tune :)

I know it's difficult fitting in the 3x runs ..but as you say..huge change to the people we were before c25k :)

Don't be disheartened.. just move forward.. fitter faster stronger ;) x

Woohoo - well done you!!! Positivity is flowing through your post - and I've caught it!!! You are right, 2 runs are way better than sitting in the couch watching tv wondering who ate all of the maltesersπŸ˜‚

Two runs are better than none by a long shot! The glad game is a great way for us to continue rather than get frustrated and quit. Dolly's doing a concert tour right now in Canada. It's funny haven't thought about her for years but have heard about her twice recently.

Good luck with your challengeπŸƒπŸΌπŸ˜Š

Thank you Lavender1962 . Time to keep my head up and be pleased with what I'm doing, rather than wishing it was more 😊 Realistically, how can I be disappointed πŸ‘

I play Pollyanna's glad game too! I love Jolene! It's on my playlist. I love the shuddery guitar intro!!!! I am not normally a fan of country music but it seems to hit the spot running wise. I've got Stand by Your man which I sing along to very loudly. Oh and Mississipi by Pussycat.

I think whatever you do running wise should be fun!

Have you tried Stepping Stones Podcasts aka C25k+ podcasts, still with the lovely Laura

I was going to try the stepping stones, but decided I wanted to try to get to 5k under my own steam and determination. Will definitely give them a try though if you recommend them xxx

I have just started stepping stones to prevent that lost feeling. I cannot yet run 5k but I'm getting closer. If I think about distance it disheartens me so the stepping stones was great as it made me focus on pace and beat and the distance just flew by. I recommend stepping stones as a way to continue your improvement, it's all about motivation I think.

Thank you Dusky-Chicken . I'll have a look, listen and try😊 Life would be so much easier on many levels if Laura could scoop us up and give advice on every day matters πŸ˜‚

I'm only just getting to catch up with the forum, yesterday was an impossible day 😞 So glad game sounds perfect me me to play right now. I totally understand your feeling lost I think it's quite common post graduation. But hey - no more bl**dy Julie πŸ‘πŸΌ. Like you I rediscovered my music and have enjoyed it but don't dismiss the idea of trying naked running - just you and the trail when you are ready. Not my first choice but it brings its own benefits. Happy Monday nowπŸ˜€πŸ˜€
