Week 7 finished!

Due to the kids being off school this morning was the first time I have done an early morning run. The alarm went off at 6am, and I staggered into my running gear, consumed a yoghurt, (can't run on an empty stomach), and out the door by 6.15am. It was just about light, so I ran my usual course which runs around a local nature reserve. My only companions were rabbits and the odd dog-walker! I was back in time to coerce teenage son into the shower. As for the actual run, once I got into my stride I did actually manage some kind of rhythm. I can understand why people say it clears their head. Up till now I have been running with my 16 year-old daughter, which definitely didn't clear my head! I am very glad to see the back of week 7, it has felt relentless, as Sarah warned it would. Onwards to week 8!

Wahoo you go tortoisegirl I ran a week 8 instead of week 7 last night and I promise you those extra three extra minutes dont really make any difference. Once you get to your 25 which you know you can do just try another 90 seconds and then another 90 seconds more. You will be on cloud 9 when you complete your first week 28 minute run.

Thank you! I shall probably do the first week 8 run really slowly, so that I have three minutes left in me at the end.

Doesnt matter how slow you go or how far you travel. All you have to do is just keep putting that one foot in front of the other one and believe me you will be so proud of yourself when that time is up. If little old me can do it then you can definitely do this tortoisegirl and Ill be cheering you on.

Well, I did it! And you were right, I ran at my normal (admittedly slow) pace and managed the extra three minutes without really noticing. Thirty minutes is so close now!

The passage from 25 to 28 and then 30 minutes is entirely a matter of mental stamina.

You already have in you everything you need to succeed; just remember it and you'll graduate in the blink of an eye. ;)

Very well done.. if you can manage the early runs, I think they are wonderful.. not always easy though with demands of work and from offspring :) I am old and past all that bit currently! :)

Just so head-clearing, as you say, and if you have read any of my rambles.. ( not advisable.. I go on a bit...) you can take everything in.. loving the bunny rabbits! :)

Onward and upward and steady and slow.. :)

I enjoy your rambles! Yes, the bunny rabbits were great, and looked very surprised to see a 40-something year old woman stomping through their territory!
