Weekly run / rest days?

Hi There,

I am probably being a bit dim here but when I look at the NHS Choices couch to 5K page I can see the run/walk guide for each week but I can't see how many days a week I should run or rest. Where should I look for a more detailed plan?

You run 3 times a week in the plan 😎

You just need to take at least one rest day between each run. Some people run alternate days, some run 3 times in a calendar week so take two rest days at some point. It's up to you!

I always ran on a Monday, Wednesday, Friday. This gives me rest days - with 2 before starting a new week! Worked for me as the programme gets quite challenging and my rest days were what I needed to graduate. On running rest days, is u r desperate, u can always walk, swim or cycle as that uses different muscles but towards the middle of the programme I rested with enthusiasm
