Week 2 day 2

So started c25k last week after having completed it 2 years ago and going on to do a half marathon (it becomes addictive). Unfortunately back then I damaged my achilles so had to give up running totally. Since then I havent been able to get back into it properly but my son's girlfriend wanted to get a bit fitter so we agreed to start training together and completed week 1 last week. Its been lovely having someone for company and she really spurs me on. The dalmatian is getting off the couch too and is trying to learn how to run in a straight line. We had a lovely run tonight through the park in the warm sunshine, and felt so good afterwards. It reminded me why I love running not just the physical benefits but also the emotional ones too. Its such a great program.

Many thanks. I had wanted a dalmatian since I was a little girl! Such an affectionate breed but boy does he need alot of exercise. Running is perfect for him.

It is great - hope you manage to build up again without problems - what a lovely spotty dog!

Thanks! Am doing all I can to try to prevent the injury recurring. Spotty dog is called Cody (although he randomly gets called Button alot of the time) and he is now 2 yrs old - prime running condition!

Welcome back and it's great that you're starting over again. You are 100% correct, it is addictive, I'm coming off Plantar Fasciitis surgery, had it in March, stopped running for 14 months, was killing me. I did the C25k 4 years ago, did 4 full marathons (2 NYC and 2 NJ) and 12 half's. Keep it up!

Its horrible not being able to run, so glad to be back at it. NYC and NJ, bet they were amazing atmospheres!

Well done. I did it 2yrs ago... my second time and will be doing half marathon number 5 in 6 weeks. 1st time I goy up to almost 10k and woke up and could barely walk. I hurt my knee. Never though I would run again. I have authritis in one knee. It is a fabulous program. Its done a lot for my weight loss and confidence x

Love your profile pic! Yep, keeping active as we get older will hopefully ward off those aches and pains. Thanks for your encouragement x
