Not been able to run now for nearly a week since my trip to A&E, ligament still giving me pain. Dr told me to rest it and ice it every few hours and to take ibuprofen for the pain, trouble is ibuprofen masks the pain and I then go and do something stupid, Trying to only take it at night to sleep.

:(

Don't worry, a week is nothing in the grand scheme of things. Just make sure you rest and recover completely. You can get going again when it's properly better. Ibuprofen does also have an anti-inflammatory agent, so take it as needed (and be careful)! You'll be back on track in no time (and we'll be here to cheer you on) :)

Really sorry about your injury. Hard though it is, patience is key! Soft tissue injuries can take a while to settle but if you try not to push too soon, you will get there. Knees can be tricky things I'm afraid. What I would say is that it might be worth seeing a good sports physio for advice. They are worth their weight in gold, as a good one has far more knowledge than a GP when it comes to sporting injuries. They will also be able to support you in rehab, looking at areas which might need strengthening to prevent it happening again. Just a thought. Fingers crossed it settles soon for you.🙂
