W6 R3 with an audience 😊

I have hated this week - moving back to intervals after that 20 minutes run really messed with my head and my body.

Warm up walk good - warm and sunny but with a good breeze and off I went

First 5 minutes good and shortly after that I think I found that thing people call rhythm

This was not easy by any stretch of the imagination - damn calves started again - used McFitty 's tippy toes tip and that helped. Few gremlins popped up but I got cross today and swore at them - really don't need that kind of negativity - "No! I won't bloody stop " Must learn to do that shout out in my head not out loud πŸ˜‚

Met two ladies walking their dogs who wished me luck and applauded me so there I was after 12 and a half minutes waving my arms in the air madly and beaming at them like I'd just completed a marathon πŸ˜‚

20 minutes in I was tired but still felt I had a rhythm going and I was on our big hill going up - I hardly dare say this but I felt a bit (just a bit) comfortable at times?

Reached the top and had 2 minutes to go in the shade and down hill . First time I have stopped for my warm down and my legs felt wobbly (think Irish-John called them spaghetti legs) but that didn't last long and I am recovering more quickly.

My lovely Laura called me a runner today - she is such an bloomin' smoothie that girl. However, I ran for 25 minutes non-stop today and a mere 7 weeks ago I couldn't manage 1 minute.

Now I have got to consolidate all I have learnt for the next 9 runs - sure I'll have some good ones and some not so good ones but for today the question is .............

Am I a runner?

Too damn right I am πŸ˜„ WhooHoo πŸƒ

Strange to say I really enjoyed the intervals and was a bit overawed at the prospect of weeks of non-stop runs. I did them all no problem, but my first run after graduation was actually an interval run and I still try to get at least one in a week. But everybody's different and I know loads of people hated week 6. Not long to graduation now!

You most certainly are my dear!

Week 6 brings many people to grief. It's all consolidation from here on so you should be fine. You're doing so well!

It's great when Laura calls you a runner, isn't it?! Well done for getting through, even with the gremlins out. You're doing so well. How lovely to have the applause of the dog walkers too. Here's to leaving the intervals behind. This is it, you're a runner!!! :)

Thanks Melly - those dog walkers were a gift - just at the right time :-)

Wow, well done. I remember getting to week 6 and feeling I was actually going to make it to week 9. Now I've just completed week 1 again, but even more determined to get to the end of the programme. Keep running!
