Mini-run - getting started again

Hello all, I have had a little rest as I had my surgery last Friday. It went very well indeed and I actually want to marry my surgeon now because he has rectified so many of my issues. In case you were wondering I had severe nasal polyps, a collapsed sinus cavity and enlarged adenoids. All of which he has sorted, resulting in better breathing and sleeping properly for the first time in ages. I am under strict instructions to rest, avoid crowds and do no exercise for 2 weeks. However I just feel if I leave it much longer I am going to lose all the momentum that I have gained so I decided a mini-run today was in order. 12 minutes at 5.6k/hr, felt very easy. Plus about 15 mins on the bike. Not going mad, it was good to be in shiny-trendy gym! I am still amazed at some of the TINY TINY slim ladies that go in there. If I was that slim I would never be motivated to go to the gym (and therein lies the irony methinks). My nose hurt a little bit after the running, I know that exercise causes constriction of blood vessels and that's why I'm not supposed to exercise, but I think a little bit like this for the next week is ok. I know my limits :) Hope you have all been running on in my absence, I look forward to joining in again!

Glad to hear the surgery went ok and you're feeling good. Take it steady and you'll be back to your full running capacity in no time :)

Glad it went well sweetie - but do take care and give yourself time to heal. Your legs won't forget how to run!

Well done! But do take care not to over do it!

Two weeks are not going to ruin anything. I spent a week on the injury couch right after graduation and it actually made me better. I think our bodies need to reconstitute fully sometimes. So do rest and heal properly, would be my suggestion. Running isn't going anywhere 😄

Do take care and you will soon be back to being A1. Don't do too much trust your surgical team as you would trust the C25K program. All my best wishes for a speedy recovery.
