Feeling pleased with myself today :-). Have now done 3 runs for week 1. The first two were really hard, but today was much better? So I am going to have a look at week 2 ready for another go on Friday.

Well done! Do resist the urge to do too much, too soon. Slow and steady get you there.

Slow and steady - fuggedaboud '5K' and '9 weeks' :) What you are doing is building up time and stamina. Think of it in percentages - one minute this week, two next - that is 100% more. When (not 'IF') you get to say where your next run is twenty minutes it will be a MUCHO smaller percentage increase than you are doing right now :)

I got kind of impatient this morning because I 'only' had to run thirty minutes for the first time - two days ago it was run for 28 minutes and a 'lousy little increase of two minutes' seemed like, wait for it, ' a waste of time - I wanna do MORE!'

Now - if you click on my profile or something and read my previous posts you too will scream with laughing at how stupidly ungrateful I can be. I ended up laughing at myself because I really did feel grumpy after running for half an hour without stopping - when I could not do W1D1 just tow months and three days ago without almost killing myself.

This programme really works. I promise. Read as many posts as possible on the Forum - that will convince you AND support you. We are all is this together - we run by ourselves but we never run alone. :)

Brilliant, week one in the can! Keep it slow, keep it steady, drink plenty and you'll be running for longer than you thought possible. Good luck with week 2 Curly Ann :)

Well done for Week 1! Each week I've thought there's no way I'll manage anything more than this but i have and currently on week 4. I make sure that I don't look at what's up next until I've done my third run each week. I think psychologically that helps because you're buzzing from achieving another week. Good look and just stick to the programme :-)

Thank you for all the lovely encouragement and tips. I think slow and steady and not being too impatient will be key and also not to look ahead until it's time is a useful tip. I also love the 'We run by ourselves, but we never run alone :-)'.
