seeing the light at the end of the tunnel

Hi all,

did w6 r2 today and completely shocked that I'm still going, really struggled with w6 r1, not sure whether that was due to the heat or because I couldn't find my rhythm or both but today was cooler, I found my rhythm and I did and that was my last interval run, I honestly cannot tell you how much c25k has changed my life, I feel so much healthier apart the return of the asthma but I'm positive now more than ever that for the first ime in my life I will complete something, so many people have said to me, you will probably have to repeat the odd week but I haven't needed to, I have learnt so much about myself through it, I never knew i was so strong willed or that I could enjoy exercise. Lastly I just wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone on the forum for the amount of support you have all given me and for understanding through your own c25k journeys how great the acheivement feels after every run xx

I think we've all felt that way and the forum definitely carried me through the programme. You're doing brilliantly. Keep going - I think a lot of people begin to enjoy it even more once the interval runs stop. :)

I completely agree!!! When you say "for the first time in my life I will complete something" I think that could be a rallying cry to all procrastinators!

I also struggled with W6R1. I think it's because you tell yourself it should be easy after W5R3, but then it turns out to still require effort! Still, very happy to read you found W6R2 just fine. I completed W6R3 yesterday and it was easy compared to W6R1.

It's true that a wonderful by-product of c25k are the other changes it brings in its wake. I figure if it's possible to become strong-willed about something that I've avoided for years (exercise), what else is doable if you set your mind to it?

Have a great W6R3!

After the excitement of completing W5 R3, Week 6 catches a lot of people out and it certainly brought me back down to earth with a bump. You're right about the added benefits on the psychological side of running, it makes you more positive, optimistic, confident and it can even treat depression.
