Sceptic to optimist..

So I'm 26 and after packing in my 2nd, more active, job in favour of just the one desk based option, I put on weight. With good gyms not close enough to home to join and my other half's treadmill in the conservatory, I decided to take the plunge and give this Couch to 5k phenomenon a go..

At this point let me tell you that I 'despise' running with every ounce of my being and although not overweight, I am very unfit. I didn't think by any stretch of the imagination that this programme would change me and I found myself telling 'Laura the podcast lady' that her promises to have me fitter, with better stamina and endurance would be laughed off soon enouh. To me this was more of a 'let's prove her wrong' than 'let's see if this can work'.

Well, I can safely say that if Laura was here now, I'd be getting the biggest 'I TOLD YOU SO' going! Dont get me wrong, I've only completed Day 1 of Week 3 but considering l would barely run 3 seconds, 2x 3 minutes is unbelievable!

I take my hat off to you Couch to 5k and eat my words. I know plenty say this but genuinely, if I can do this, anyone can. So far it has changed me enough for me to actually be looking forward to smashing it again on Thursday.

well done for getting this far! I too loath all sorts of exercise and I still can't say I enjoy it, but I do feel strangely guilty when I don't run as it does play on my mind! Sounds like you might be catching the bug too...!
