Week 7 D3 completed! 5k Race for Life next Saturday so fingers and toes crossed all will be well.... Can't decide whether to do full Week 8 D3 run on the day or alternate 5 mins running 1 minute walking until I hit the 5k - I'm so slow the 30 minutes of running will only take me to about 3.5 km. Any advice?

Well done! From what I've heard the race for life events are very varied and lots of people walk all the way. I'm doing the 17th in Hull with my daughter and we will be walking interspersed with short runs. I'd see what you feel comfortable with. I would probably do the w8 d3 run as it will get it done with and the novelty will keep you distracted, and either just walk until the end or add some additional intervals if you have the energy.

i think you'll be pleasantly surprised. Events, the people, the atmosphere, the strangeness, the terror, all conspire to give you wings. I did my first half marathon this spring with a cut off of 2:30. The best I'd done in training was 2:40. I came home in 2:15.
So go for w8d3. When "those thoughts" come ask yourself if you hurt anywhere and can you still breathe. If the answer is no and yes, then keep going. Best of luck.
