Week 9 run 1 but this is my first post

I have been reading some of the posts on the forum for a few weeks and have found them very inspirational and encouraging. So I thought it was time I posted some words of encouragement to anyone who has any doubts or fears about starting on the couch to 5k program. I am 70+ and suffered a heart attack a couple of years ago. Since then I have been going to the gym off and on. My level of fitness isn't too bad but I don't feel I have really pushed myself. What gave me the impetus to do more was after watching the London marathon, I decided to give C25k a try and it's the best decision I have ever made. W week one's first run was abissmal, I only managed the first two 60runs and walked home deflated. I left it for a few days before trying it again and I surprised myself by doing it,I won't pretend it was easy but over the following three weeks I began to enjoy it. My family were very supportive and the advice from my husband was don't look ahead to what the next run is take each run as it comes. So, week5 run3 came as a bit of a shock when Laura announced I would be running for twenty minutanduse this v My initial thoughts were on no this could be the end of my foray into running. The first ten minutes were a struggle but I managed it. Tomorrow I will be starting my final week, week nine run one, wow I can't believe it. So if you are wondering whether you can do it I say yes you can just follow and trust in the program and use the valuable resource of this forum it will provide you with excellent advice and encouraging support. Sorry this was a long post.

A brilliant, inspirational post. You're never too old to run, and never too young to start! Most of us wished we'd started running years ago - so if you're thinking about it, anybody out there, just go for it!
