To quote the great Nelson Mandela that's exactly how I feel about finishing this program!!! I really cannot believe that I have stuck with this and overcome my lifelong exercise/ getting sweaty/Lycra/ being seen in public doing the above phobia to get to graduation. I am so so grateful to all the wonderfully generous , supportive folk on this forum who have been with me through every step - you are the gremlinbusters for sure! Thank you all so much .I've learnt a whole new language , acquired much more Lycra and feel like I can do so much more than I thought I could.
I was pretty nervous about this final run - wavering about trying a new route in the forest park etc but in the end stuck to the old familiar ( hilly) one and felt pretty good throughout. Only managed 4.2 km in the 30min but just elated to have finished !

Aww my dearest Floss you are my hero - your Eloquent writing, inspirational quotes , warmth and generosity in sharing is just priceless and really this whole experience has been vastly enriched by your wise words. Thank you for being just brilliant !!! 👏👏👏
Many congratulations on your graduation, very well done. It is an amazing feeling isn't it! Regarding structure - have a look at the couch to 5k+ podcasts (stepping stones, speed, stamina). I really like them because Laura is still there encouraging me along and telling me what to do! Best of luck to you.
Thank you so much - really appreciate all the support. The fact that I posted the photo goes to show how much the program has changed my mindset- 9 weeks ago I would never been brave enough to do that . All the warmth , friendliness and encouraging voices on here have helped beyond just the running. Best of luck to you for the rest of your runs! 😄
Thanks so much Slinky I've been on such a high all day - my grad gift is to book the massage I was given a voucher for on Mother's Day - have been saving it as a treat for when I finish! 😄
Indizulu, that is good news. I hadn't realised that you were graduating already. Time flies. Congratulation on your achievement! Do you have any postgraduation plans? And are you living in South Africa or just quoting Madiba, probably the greatest of my heroes?
Hi Iben thank you so much - yes it really has flown by!! Madiba is my hero - I am South African Indian hence Indizulu and grew up under apartheid. Live now in NIreland( married an Ulsterman) but still after 20+ years call SA home. 😄
