Another 5k is in the box

I went out for my 2nd 5k and completed it. But it was much harder this time and even slower than my first 5k. Maybe it was because I ran very early in the morning before breakfast. Maybe it's because I have been dieting strictly for a couple of weeks now... Don't know.

But it was nevertheless a beautiful run around Damhussøen (Damhus Lake) and the weekend has started brilliantly :-)

Happy running!

Well done, 5k slow/fast it doesn't matter, your out there. 🏃What a way to start the weekend! ☺ i ran my 2nd 5k yesterday and found it hard going, I changed my route don't know if that made a difference not having my usual landmarks to aim for.☺

You're absolutely right - as long as we get out there and run, it doesn't matter if we're slow or fast. I am also more relaxed on familiar routes.

Good job, you will find that your times will vary a great deal especially if you are consolidating your 5k runs now. Mine varied greatly when I first started until you get into a fairly steady rhythm of running. Even now I have graduated about 13 months ago when I start off I think ok I can push on this one, only to find that I struggle and then others its like gliding round the route. Keep with it!

Thanks for that, Mat. It's a bit annoying to get slower :-( but I will keep with it - I wouldn't know how to stop :-)

Hi Iben, I have wild fluctuations in my speed too. I've done two 5ks in under 35 mins, but can do anything up to 40 mins and have no idea what's going to come out when I start off! And none of them are easy. Very strange🤔

Glad it is not just me - from what Mat says sounds like it might get better when we become more experienced runners but our bodies will continue to surprise us - we are not machines
