So pleased.. got out yesterday and thought I would push past the 30 mins I can now manage since graduation..

What I was post I g for is.. I thought it was just the high of graduation run that made me able to run that 5k.. I had experienced after my usual 3k mark that I settled into a slow pace and made the next two ks easily!

So I have ran a bout 4 times running steady tough 3 ks and knew it was time to up the distance..So I set out.. all of the 3k again tough..but kept going and almost as if by magic again felt heavy legs ease..pace slow and steady and really began to enjoy the run..So much so that just after 4k I could pick up my pace and was amazed to find I was actually properly running.. pace quickened nicely..it really felt good!!

So what is that all about? Is it just that its taking my body 30mins to warm up?

Whatever I'm quite happy with this as now feel with 3 more weeks till RFL I should feel confident of running the whole distance :)

It could be. Mine only 'gives in' and realises I mean business after about 20mins. However, don't worry about your rfl as there will probably be a warm up going on before hand so join in that (at my HM recently the warm up nearly gave me a heart attack😀) and the atmosphere will carry you through. What I mean is your body won't need the 30 mins to get going that it needs at the moment - adrenaline/excitement will kick in and carry you through. If you have any doubts you could always do your own warm up first - and just keep moving on the day.

Good luck and don't forget to enjoy the experience.

Excellent - sounds like you're doing really well. I know some people do a much longer warm up walk before they feel ready to run - you could try that.

That's great sparky. I don't think you can call yourself a runner unless you have a few niggles 😊 And yes, as Nina says, I'm feeling good. x
