90ldfinch as you stated it's the law and I don't want to get into anymore trouble (well today anyway 😂) here's my nice shiny new shoes which I'm going to try out on W3R1 tomorrow morning hopefully.
Now remember I'm new to all this so some of my questions may leave you shaking your head but................ is there a special way to lace up running shoes. Now before any of you PYSL I'm only asking because when I was properly fitted for the shoes in the running shop when the guy was lacing them up he used the very last eyelet to get them to fit tightly around the ankles but he had "fancy" wee loops for the top which he used which tied the shoes in the middle. I'm hoping that even makes the remotest bit of sense to one of you more knowledgeable people out there 😄😄

Different lacing strategies for wide foot / narrow foot / heel lift / cramped toes / numb feet etc. It really is worth spending time getting the lacing right before you start with your new shoes.
MarkyD thanks for that, now probably back to the stupid statements from me but they appeared to be completely normally laced up until the last bit. I tried the shoes on and they were perfect except for round the heel. Then he did the wee loop thing and they fitted. The nearest shop is 85 miles away so I'll try and find it on line. Just a bit scared googling "funny wee loop" 😄
thank you, didn't really have any preference and tried about 12 different styles/ sizes and these just felt right. Need additional cushioning for gout and arthritis so gel shoes are seeming the way for me to go THEN he told me how much they were 😱 Because they didn't have them in the shop in the right size colour I got them online and £40 cheaper. Unfortunate for the running shop but £40 is £40.
Very lovely Asics! My favourites🙂 As others have said, not a silly question at all. I use lock-lacing on mine by creating a loop with that extra eyelet at the top of the shoe. Lots of diagrams and videos out there and different lacing ideas for different shoe issues!! Bit sad really isn't it!😉
They were the ones that. Fitted best by far. Lock lacing sounds like what he might have done because he created the loop with the extra eyelet. Yours sound soooo much more technical than my funny wee loop 😄 I'll probably be that confused I'll still be running in my old shoes next week!!
Nice shoes, photos of new shoes are not law, but have been the norm on here for sometime. As for lacing, I've never been fussed with it, as long as they're done up!😊
That's all I'm trying to achieve TBH the shoes fitted much better round my ankles when the guy in the shop laced them that way and I am trying to find out how to do.
Yes they definitely fitted well but what I forgot to put in the post which was one of the best things is no wee stones in my shoe for the first time since I started this. I run along the canal bank which is topped by tiny wee chips an they've been getting everywhere but not today 😄
I have mine laced up like that. That's what the spare hole is for, in case yous were wondering. I know I was. I had to Google. What a revelation! It brings the shoe around your ankle more snugly. If you're trail running it can do good as you don't get bits of annoying stuff down your shoes, which drive you mad.
Lovely shoes, artistically arranged like a still life, grey on red. Very swanky. Pity to get em mucky int it! LOL
Lovely shoes... Yes the extra lacing helps support the ankles. Don't tie too tight as your feet swell when you run and they can go numb!!!!! Enjoy them!!!
ju-ju- 😂 I'm doing W3R1 in them this morning so I'm expecting them to go numb anyway. Three whole minutes of running, this'll be interesting 😱 Yeah thanks for the advice the guy in the video looks like he pulled them much tighter than the guy in the running shop tied them on me last week. Just getting up and ready to go out. Watch for an out of breath post shortly 😡🙈
