Blimey, it was surprisingly warm this morning at 04:45. The sun was just coming up, but the air was stuffy and humid.
Did a (partially) new route, which took in some inclines- nice to throw in an extra challenge.
I too had to break out the shorts today. I can also confirm that increased airflow = a lot more comfort.
Legs felt really heavy, and about 10 minutes in, it felt like a real slog. Pushed through the gremlins, and kept going on autopilot.
It was like running through treacle on the inclined finish, and I was glad to get it done.
On the positive side, my stamina is definitely increasing- my recent runs have been nearly 4km. I still marvel at the fact I can somehow propel myself this far.
Distance isn't important on C25K, but I finished today's run in the park where I started my first tentative steps on wk1, and that brought a smile to my face.
Not for the first time recently, my legs eventually felt fine, but only after I'd finished the run, and the post-run walk.
Sweatily onwards and upwards!

Yay, nearly there... I'm only on week 4 run 1 but I know what you mean about the marvel: my shadow looks like a proper runner even as I'm repeating 'keep going, keep going'! I constantly find it astonishing what we can do when we set our minds to it.
Wow, now that is devotion that early. This humidity is pretty depressing but I keep telling myself that it must be better than wind and cold rain that we will have to newly challenge ourselves with in Autumn and winter 😀 5 runs left you for you!!!
Well done! I did this run today too (although not as early! Mine was more of a 07.30 start). Hit the 4k mark which is what I was aiming to achieve next week. We are almost done!
4.45! Is it so you don't shock many peeps at that time of the morning because you're now wearing shorts? 😁 l know, working commitments.
Dawn chorus wakes me at 4am then back to sleep, don't do early mornings now, unless going on holiday, but then I'm retired so don't have to get up early..😊
Finchy you're on the home straight now - Ioving the satisfaction you clearly felt from finishing somewhere you started on this amazing path. I had it all planned today to try the local forest park for my week 7 run 3 but thunderstorms/ torrential rain meant it had to be the treadmill - omg it was soooo hard!! But it's done , legs are sore in various places now . Week 8 here I come😊
Another week blasted, Indi🎉 , in spite of bad weather ⚡
That's excellent and yet another early bird! Really does sound like you are making fantastic progress and to run where you did the first run must have been special. Are you doing your graduation there too?
