Pain in left arch of foot.: Hi guys, Just been... - Couch to 5K
Pain in left arch of foot.
Hi Tilly,
If you mean plantar fasciitis it doesn't sound much like it - the pain is usually in the soft tissue just in front of the heel bone and very tender to press on there but it doesn't usually make a lump. If it doesn't settle down with a few days rest I'd get it looked at.
Really annoying when things stop the flow of the running isn't it? I am just getting over a chest infection and not sure how far back to take the running after three weeks off.
As beverleyg says, rest is the best thing, but if it doesn't clear up do get some professional advice. It is possible to do permanent damage if you ignore problems in this area. Plantar fibrous is not something that l have ever heard of, whereas l do know of several people who have really struggled to keep running because of plantar fasciitis. See a GP as the first port of call. Good luck.
Hi Tilly - how are things? Are you still having foot pains? I hope not - and I hope that you have had a great summer with a lot of running around. Miss you around here.
