So I'd been debating about whether to repeat a week 3 run or go onto week 4 after 2 weeks not running (but working 12 hour shifts). Well looks like people were right about my job helping my stamina as I've just about managed it. I'm pretty sure there were people on crutches going faster than me at points but I completed the first week 4 run. I think the glorious weather helps as well. That said, why is it no matter which way I run, the wind is against me! Anyway although it was difficult at times (if only 5 minutes felt so long in other departments eh) I'm pleased I did it and actually didn't take me too long to recover. Phew!
Took the plunge-week 4: So I'd been debating... - Couch to 5K
Took the plunge-week 4
It's one of the rules of running that the wind is never behind us! Well done for going forwards and getting to week 4.
As Irishprincess says... the wind is NEVER behind us.... ever! Maybe we run so fast it feels like it is whistling past us ?
Well done you... I am thinking... Slow, is the new, fast!!!!
The next week ALWAYS looks impossible!! But the programme is designed to push us just far enough! Brilliant and well done for trusting yourself too. Being slow is great, you are finding just the right pace to complete the run and prevent injury! Speed can come along later when you are not being pushed so hard to run longer 😀
My circumstances mean intermittent running too. Often takes a couple of weeks to complete a "week" and started again so many times. Did W4R1 last night too. Dodgy knee decided it would make an appearance and thought there was no chance i'd complete the final 5 minutes, but managed it. Achy this morning, but R2 on Saturday, now I know I can do it.
