Coping with Cramp

Hi all. First post by me and I must start by saying what a great program c25k is and how much I am enjoying it. I have, however, started to hit a bit of a problem as the runs have got longer. (I am now up to w7r3). A couple of weeks ago I felt a sharp pain in my left calf towards the end of the run. I managed to finish and was due a couple of day off and by the time I resumed it was ok, but a couple of days ago it happened again in the other leg. If it was a pulled muscle I assume I wouldn't have been able to finish either time so am assuming it is cramp. Has anyone else experienced this? If so, any suggestions?

  • Welcome aboard Simon !

Are you doing stretches after your runs ? I would also suggest some gentle calf stretches as part of a general routine, heel raises, and then standing up on your toes .

If you search for calf stretches in the search box , I am sure there will be lots of advice on here.

Good Luck with the rest of the programme and hope you get it sorted xxx

  • Thanks. Will investigate.
