So yesterday for me was my first attempt at doing the first day first week in this and it didn't go well if you saw my post however today was so much more better I went further the weather was warmer and I didn't feel weird after it however where I run/plod on (ha ha) is a public field with a path through it this is where kids play but its also where people walk there dogs and normally let them of there leads. This got me thinking what do people do when there's dogs been walked? Cos if I started running there this dog would have chased me (it was a grey hound puppy getting used to its legs ha ha ) the dog I wasn't bothered about but I didn't want to run into it or it following me much. So what do people do when they get to a dog off there lead ?
Today was so much more better than yesterday b... - Couch to 5K
Today was so much more better than yesterday but with a few distractions
Lol, getting used to it's legs. I love that.....
I normally ignore the dog & keep going if it's off the lead, but if it looks friendly & is on the lead I say hello as I pass (I also say hello to the owners!)
I encounter a fair number of dogs where I run & so far only one has been a bit "iffy" towards me.
Ps well done on the run!
Firstly a big well done to you for starting c25k! Personally I vary my routes and I too run where children play and dogs are walked, but this for me is a good thing as it takes my mind off running and enjoy what's going on around me. Having said that, I do tend to run in the early evening weekdays so aren't too many around. It would be an idea to try and vary your route though. Just a tiny bit of advice, try and have a day's rest between runs, even though you had a good run on the second day following today, you do need to recover. Well done you again 😊
Thanks yeah it was a nice distraction but I just didn't want to run in to anyone (especially the dogs if they got excited) I think I need to come up with a different route to use or try later on in the day since it was early evening when I went out today and honestly never thought about resting days since I havent done a full first day I was gonna continue but a rest day may help .... Thanks for the advice
