Well that was interesting! What a lovely experience. I even got approached by a lady walking her dog who wanted to know how I started running so naturally I put her onto the c25Kapp and the Parkrun website and I think we have another recruit. Most fascinating though was the effort the front runners were putting in. I have only ever seen their backsides in the distance before but today I saw close up the effort they were putting in and I haverealisedI am not trying hard enough! Spot my new bright blue Sauconys and the Ironson who is running the Bath HM tomorrow as also (possibly) am I !

Hi TT, love park run, I proudly wore my 50 shirt for the first time today, there was a young lady at her first run, (at least half my age I think) I encouraged her round, and she said to me, 'you've done 50' I said, 'yes, taken me ages, and it doesn't matter how fast you are' , 'I promise you, you will feel fantastic afterwards, keep going, but slowly' , she stuck with me and made it, encouraged by her friends, we had a happy high 5, she was heard to say 'never again' , going by the smiles, I think she'll be back........😄

Mx

Ps yes she was at least 30 years younger than me, hopefully she'll look at the results and say, blimey, can't be beaten by an old woman, will have to have another go.......😄

Well done peeps! It's a great thing to be part of. More power to its elbow

It's ok to keep pushing TT but it is wearing on the legs. You can save yourself for races, which is what I am going to be doing from now on rather than pushing too hard in training. Using my head to save my legs sorta thing.

Also some of us are endurance runners rather than fast. No shame in that!

Our parkrun has a circuit of the field before branching off, and I'm always amazed how hard the front runners are working as they zoom past me on their second lap as I'm struggling with my first. :O

How are you feeling today, Sweetie? Any possibility of doing your tomorrow? xx

Feeling and sounding better. Just tried a slow jog up a .5k hill and survived. Will go to Bath with Ironson tonight and play it by ear!
