Today I used my new ipod nano instead of listening to Laura as I hit the treadmill. I set it for 45mins to allow for warmup and warmdown but 10 minutes in I had to stop as nature called. (This is something I am now getting used to!) I paused and then resumed but lost track of the time as the ipod voice informed me I had done 25 minutes, then 30, then 40, then 45. I subtracted 20 mins instead of the 10 I had actually completed before the pause and carried on for another couple of minutes just to see if I could. When I had cooled down, I realised I had actually run for 35 minutes. I am 69 years old and when I started running I had problems completing week 1. Now look at me, I'm a runner! 5.1k at an average of 7.2kph. Not fast but hey, who cares. In my mind, I'm flying.
