Tales of the injury couch...

Well I had two weeks off for a torn calf muscle and that was feeling better so I decided to go out for a gentle "getting back into the swing of things" jog.

I had been running for barely 5 minutes and I hasten to add I had warmed up properly, when I twisted my ankle on a frozen mound of mud and came crashing down on the hard earth.

Actually the twist wasn't so bad. i could put weight on the ankle almost immediately but the ankle was swollen to twice its usual size.

That was Tuesday of last week. Since then I've just been swimming and have walked a little.

The ankle feels fine now but I'm a bit wary about running until I'm sure it's completely healed.

I'm hoping my run of bad injury luck is nearly over !!! I just hope I don't lose all the wonderful stamina I've gained.

Off to the pool now ...

That's such bad luck Cath. When I fell and hurt my ankle 2 years ago, it took months to heal. Hope you're able to get back running before long. I think the swimming will be maintaining your stamina.

Ouch I hope you recover fully soon :) it is difficult to know when to resume running after an injury , do it when you feel it is right , I am sure the swimming will help maintain your stamina :)

Good luck and fingers crossed for your return to running
