Wow 6.2 miles this morning

Hi All,

I just wanted to let you know that thanks to Couch to 5K, this morning I managed to jog 6.2 miles. I'm training for the Reading Half Marathon in April and only started the C25K in October so I never thought I would be able to do 6.2 miles. I'm going to try for 7 miles next week, so fingers crossed!

Well done Julia, that is amazing! Are you following a half marathon plan or your own? I tried a plan and it resulted in injury for me. I have my HM in September and getting back on track now. Have you seen there is a 10k forum and also a marathon forum on the website, some great people on there too! Julie

Hi Julie, thank you! No I'm not following a plan, I'm just trying to increase my run by a mile a week. I'm still aiming for going out at least 3 times a week with a rest day in between. I'm having to walk a bit up the steepest hills, but I'm managing 6.5 miles in one and a quarter hours at the moment. I'd like to be faster, but as everyone has said to do, I'm concentrating on stamina rather than speed.

I didn't know about the 10k forum so thanks for that.

Ah thank you so much; that means a lot to me! I can't believe that at the beginning of October I had only ever walked every where, so I'm pleased.
