Too much ice !!!

Hi everyone, I've been running since July of last year, and for the last 3 months have been regularly doing my local Parkrun. Today is the first time I arrived and it was cancelled, and I was genuinely upset. This time last year if you had asked me to get up early on a Saturday morning too run 5K I would have gladly refused. Now I'm upset when I can't !!! The couch to 5K programme is really something that totally gets you hooked on running. So for anyone just starting or at any stage, keep going, it will change your life !!!

  • Sorry to hear that your Parkrun was cancelled SB I guess they only have everyone's safety in mind. There were icy patches on my Parkrun this morning, not too bad, told us to run on the grass and keep of the paths were we could and they had marshals standing on the really bad parts to steer us away from potential slips.

I know how you feel it took me a long time to pluck up the courage to go to Parkruns and now I couldn't do without them.

Hope the weather improves for next week so they don't cancel anymore.

    keep running :-)

  • Ha ha, it surely is. Addictive isn't it. Who'da thought it. We became runners thanks to C25k. Shakes head in amazement

Quite a few folks have reported cancelled parkruns. It's safest though when it's too icy to be safe. Very hard to run on ice as you're constantly braking and too hesitant to run meaningfully. Pity it was cancelled though if they'd bought all that bacon. The bacon sarnis and coffees could still have taken place. Sigh
