Week 1 done and can't wait to start week 2

As tbe title says, cant wait for Monday to come around to start week 2.

I am conscious that up to now I am only going on flat surfaces and at a gentle pace. Although I feel tired at the time (run 3 was deffo easier) I am not particularly aching afterwards. Being a novice at exercise I can't help but wonder if I am doing it right?

Next question while I am here, am thinking of buying some sort of activity tracker (fitbit, misfit etc) but there seems a big variance in price and its a bit of a minefield. Have xmas money to spend but no idea if to spend a little or splash out.

Anyone got any comments on these?

Well done!

Just take it slow and steady, it is the best way and just follow Laura's instructions.

I got a basic Garmin Forerunner 10, after reading some advice on this site.. it is simple to use, and as I was not bothered about heart rate etc etc, it does what I wanted, and not mega bucks either. It depends how much info you require. :)

It all depends on what you want in the long term, if you want to try something I'd suggest a garmin forerunner 10 from eBay for around £40, they are a great starting device and they resell easily. Then you can decide if it's for you.

I like the idea of the fit bit but they are a big investment, I think around £85+ and I'm not sure if they would be good after the c25k for monitoring running. I think they are more to get people active and you are already doing that with c25k.

I'm saving for a real running watch either the TomTom runner 2 as it plays music via Bluetooth and has a heart rate monitor built inso saves carrying multiple items or a similar garmin.

Of course you are doing it right, well done. Nice and steady and breathe slowly and deeply and trust Laura (she knows a thing or two)! I thought about an activity tracker but decided instead to download an App as I already pay for my phone! Map my Run is free and a good one, tells you distance, speed and there is a verbal prompt so every time I do a km,mint tells me and my time. Perfect for me for now. Julie

You don't need any running device for c25k. It's only about finishing the sessions. You are doing just fine. Slow on the flat sounds ideal. Enjoy yourself. No stress about time/ distance etc ☺

Once you get to Graduation and beyond then you could treat yourself to a garmin forerunner 10 ☺as a gift to yourself

Cheers all.......thanks for the advice. Think I need a bit of an all rounder, like the idea of the fitbit as I think you can monitor progress. Will do a bit more research ;)
