I've just signed up for this !

Millport, Isle of Cumbrae (my island ... well ok, it's not mine )

michaelsmovers.org/event/mi...

Thought it might be of interest for anyone in the area ! Registration is open now. Money is for Parkinsons.

The lady who organises it (her husband has Parkinson's), ran round the island 5 times a couple of years ago to raise money !!! 50 miles !!!!

That sounds like a great run, I wish I was in the area! I have just googled the island, I'm not even familiar with the name! (hangs head in shame, sorry!) and it looks absolutely beautiful. I'm sure you must love running there. Maybe one day, in my travels.....Enjoy the run anyway. x :-)

Well done IR! Your island to run around, what a great incentive, good luck!

My nephew lives not too far away in Troon..

I have friends who ran this last year and really enjoyed it. I've signed up to do the Loch Leven HM at Kinross on the 14th May. I'll maybe come over to Millport next year

I'd not heard of it either! You're lucky to own your own island. LOL

A ten miler is a great distance. Hope it's not too hot though. When I did my first and only one it was a flippin scorcher. If there are hills you will have to get hill training sorted well beforehand

Plenty of training for you then IR. No pressure ..... tee hee

I ran it on New Years day this year, so I know I can do it. Flat run, just one small hill near the end, which I ran up on autopilot ! lol !

I'll get a few more practice runs in before May, want to be able to run it in May without falling down in a heap !

I will pray for rain or cloud, I tend to melt in the heat.

ooh, sounds very scenic,

too far for me - away from home and distance to run!

It could be my first bling !!!!! The couch potato in me just died a bit inside cause I'm excited about bling !

Doing one of the sports relief 5ks in March, but don't think you get bling from that.

Hi, that sounds like fun. If you can do 10 miles then you could easily do some of the woman's 10ks that come up in and around Glasgow this year too.
