Well I've just looked back on my last post a year ago and I can confidently say 2015 was a failed year for my running despite all my good intentions.

So here goes I'm wanting all you lovely people to send me motivational replies to get me back out there. I have managed to keep my weight off, well almost all of it Christmas has done Me no favours and I have not dared the scales yet. January 2nd is the day of truth for that.

So please folk help I hate myself right now

The failed word is a big NONO on here! You just had a slight relapse into old ways, that's all, and your not the only one! Christmas hasn't done most of us any favours! You must be more positive and pickup again for 2016, so, set yourself some goals, and the best of luck!😃

Come on, we can do it. The fact we are on here is evidence that we want it. I did week 9 but still not ran 5k. Stopped for the last few months of the year. The good news is that ive got my partner coming out with me as of yesterday. Im staying a fresh c25k week 1 to get my partner up to speed 😊 been looking into food tips and recipes cos that is my down fall always. Also i found nhs 12 week fitness plan which includes c25k. So let's get organised and start as we mean to go on. Good luck 😊

Why was it a failed year for your running? Do you know what wrong for you?

From graduating i really struggled without Laura then the summer comes and running in the heat i find difficult so stopped. Have graduated again with Laura since and then due to not having a programme to follow stopped again. I did think about doing a park run but my stupid self concious mind and the fear of making a fool of myself put pay to that. So here i am back at square one yet again 😕

Go and watch a parkrun. See the mixture of athletes, slow joggers, push chair pushers, walkers and others. Stay there until the last runner finishes. You'll see how unnecessary it is to be self-conscious when some participants can take an hour to complete the course. The come back the following week and have a go. I did just that and am hooked (but not every week). You can slink off before the end if you want - your name isn't recorded until you finish.

It sometimes takes several attempts before we can change entrenched behaviours so please do not be hard on yourself. The important thing is, you are still here on this forum, and planning to make healthy changes. Don't bother about the scales, just get out in this fabulous weather and make a start. Good luck.....

2 clues... your last post was a year ago... and you read the wrong one, the one to read was your graduation one.

Why on *earth* would you hate yourself when you successfully completed C25K? And when you've kept excess weight off at least until Christmas? You have built a great launch pad there with your own efforts.

Come on..... remember the famous quotation..." It’s not how many times you fall, but how many times you get back up again!

You can do it... there are so,so many people here wanting to help, and with really great advice.

Think positive and go for it.. slow and very steady! :)

As a week 5 day 3 runner having been unable to get through the wall yesterday I look at you as a graduate with admiration, you're already a winner. Compare where you are now to where you were before you started the c25k and you will be pleased, I think of my runs as not a choice..... I just go. See you at a park run in 2016.

Hating yourself is a bad start to the year, kiddo. Look at everything you succeeded at, like losing weight and keeping it off, and stop beating yourself up for the stuff you didn't do.

Start with Laura again then do the stamina or speed podcasts if you need structure. The fact that you're back here is a sign that you're ready and willing to kick off again - the hard work's already been done, so get those trainers by the door, weigh and measure yourself up on 2nd January, and hit the road. I weighed and measured a year ago today - comparison this morning was an eyebrow raiser. GO FOR IT.
