SO HAPPY ! This is a great programme and the support from the community is immense. I can't begin to describe how unfit I felt when I first started and some weeks have been tough but like so many on here I got there. Thanks everybody and good luck to those still on the journey. Merry Christmas and a running New Year :0)

So excited for you, well done - that took a great deal of determination. Wondering how you plan to continue your running adventures? I remember it felt strange to be a free runner and I was worried I might lose my enthusiasm and commitment without Laura!

I found that taking time to settle into running regularly at 30 minutes allowed me to recover from the programme and so when I was comfortable, I introduced a 5k run and when that felt OK, did 3 X 5k. This is a challenging distance and it was some weeks before I felt my legs were able to try a little bit more. I just tried 5.5k and it was ok.

I think it is important to trust yourself and monitor how your legs feel on a run and how they recover too. Now you can run for 30 minutes, there are so many more places you can explore.

There is a 10k forum here too and I have found it helpful to see what others are doing post C25K. Keep us posted. Julie 😀

Hi JoolieB1,

Yes, it's interesting about where to go next. My immediate plans are to remain running around the 30 min mark - perhaps up to 45 mins but go a bit faster. I don't see myself pushing up to 10K at this stage but am certain that I will continue running regularly. I'm mostly a gym runner at the moment and greatly prefer early morning runs so intend to be outside more once the clocks change and will perhaps then look to knock over a few Park Runs in reasonable times.

I'm still trying to lose weight and what this has done is allow me to shed a few lbs without having to worry about everything that I eat or drink.

Happy running everybody !

Fantastic! I think running for 30 minutes is a significant achievement and your idea to take time to settle int running is brilliant and very wise. I chose to increase distance and let speed come naturally and that's good for me as so far no injuries - your legs will tell u if you have pushed to far! 5k is a good goal, I still find it a challenging distance and I graduated 12 weeks ago. Just nice and steady and just plod a little longer on a good running day and sure u could do it. My furthest is 7.5k so far but my very minimum is 5k which I do x3 times a week. Definitely recommend parkrun and they r always happy to have volunteers too if u just want to look first

Well done Scarb! Congratulations. What a lovely early Christmas present to yourself. Are you going to treat yourself to a running gift? You should! You earned it

Happy running over Christmas. We'll all be out there giving it large (or maybe not so large) Nothing like it for getting rid of that post Christmas Day/Boxing sloth and the general stodginess that abounds.

Have fun! Post Christmas please have a go (with Laura) at the C25k+ Stepping Stones podcasts!
