The only thing harder than starting...

... Is restarting! I got to the second to last week in a previous life and stopped because I forgot to bring my trainers with me on a two week holiday in Dominica... Last year I tried again, barely made it past the first few runs.

But THIS time I'm on second run of week 2, trying desperately to keep on track with work being mental. I know it's no excuse and a run will make me feel better but with everything being so stressful with getting up at 5:30 and getting home at gone 10pm most nights I seem to have fallen by the wayside again... My last run was Sunday and everything this week has seemed determined to get in my way. I'm going to repeat my first run of week 2 again tonight and I really want to stay on track this time.

Anyone else fallen off the C25K wagon before and managed to successfully get back on? Any encouragement greatly appreciated as my partner thinks I'm a bit crazy :p

Can totally empathise with you on this...I started Couch to 5K in May... with my son in law acting as an encouraging supporter. Then pulled something horrid, in my left ankle... so.. everything stopped.

Moved house in July,( v stressful after 32 years in one house)..then holiday in France from end of August into September. The combination of good food and maybe the odd glass of wine :), meant on returning home, I felt sluggish and tired... so, decided to start it again. I just wanted to feel healthy and invigorated..

On my own with just Laura for company...and the wonderful folk on this site, ( did not discover them until November)!

I do Week 9 Run 3 on Saturday... weather permitting or not!

You are totally NOT crazy... the benefits are incredible and for stress relief, probably one of the best things to do.

i know that probably for me, as I am retired, this appears to be a case of ," easy for me to say" but it has been hard for me to motivate myself too. I run early, usually 7.30 to 8 ish in the morning, and you will be forced to fit your runs in where travel time/work permits... but please go for it.

You will be so glad you did! Keep me posted:)

How did your run go!! Yes I fell off the ladder because everything was a bit mental with work. Still, I'm going to be kind to myself and start week 2 again either this afternoon or tomorrow :) x

I graduated the week before Christmas...! Started Couch to 5K+ yesterday.. after a couple of gentle running for fun outings.... brilliant!

You go for it... start week 2 and just take it nice and slow and steady!

Great start to a new year.. Try and cling to the thought.. work to live, not live to work.. easy said, hard to do, but worth it:)

I have my favourite running quote on my medal board precisely for the occasion I get out of the habit and need to get back into it:

"The miracle isn't that I finished. The miracle is that I had the courage to start"

You go for it ☺

You are not crazy. You will feel so wonderful when you send us your graduation post in a few weeks time. Don't worry if you can't fit in three runs in a week. Do what you can. Maybe try running at lunchtime because if you are back as late as 10 pm there's no way you can run after work.

Keep us posted on your progress
