I can see a runner in me! Week9 Run1 completed!

Thanks everyone to encourage me to carry on when I was not confident enough after weeks break just after my week 6. I have been terribly busy, was away for the social media for a while. But I remembered your advice and carried on.I could not be very regular, in stead of three runs in some weeks it was two or only one. But I managed to manage my time and now I go for a run during office time just before sun set and then come back to work again.

During week 8, it became really difficult for me. I started being tired after 10 minutes and after half way I thought I wont be able to carry on. But I did. Yes! And that encouraged me to be regular again. Quite surprisingly on my first run in week 9 (Thursday), I felt better, even after 15 minutes, I was feeling confident that I could finish it and with pride.

Yess! I ran 4 km in 30 minutes with an average pace of 7 min 30 sec per kilometer. For the first time I kept record of distance and pace using myfitnesspal. I am hoping to work on my speed now. Well but right after that I had my period, due to terrible pain I could not run yesterday. For the last two days I feel a burning pain in my right ankle, I don't know whether I was injured during my last run.

Now I cant just wait to go out and run. As soon as I start feel ok, I will go for my second run of week 09. I am just two runs away from the goal. I can't believe myself that I can run for 30 minutes without any break.... But what can I do to get relief from that pain. Did anybody face such?

Thanks Lora... Thanks Couch to 5K... and also thanks to me for sticking on this one thing in my life.

Have a rest if you are in pain! A few days rest will do you good, allow your inflammation and pain to subside, hopefully. Get the ice out if needs be!

When you get back out there, just run nice and steady. Don't be in a hurry. The object of the exercise is to just complete the session

Good luck!

Well done! So nearly there. I'm at the same stage as you and I've been feeling sore ankles this last week too (when they've been fine all along - up until now it's only been achy knees). I have an ice wrap on them as we speak. Hoping that ibuprofen, ice and a few days rest will sort them out ready to finish and graduate. You can do it!!!!
