Good evening!! Has anyone done the Parkrun in Redditch - round Arrow Valley Lake (twice) ? If so, how was it, and are they friendly?! The times look pretty fast, (even the last ones) so I was wondering if it was a very competitive venue.

Arrow Valley is a nice venue. It's all tarmac paths and quite flat, with just a small hill (looked huge when I ran it the first time, and the second...) The people are very friendly, and while the 'leets' are a bit competitive the rest of us aren't. There's usually 320 plus runners. get early to get a (free) parking space. Keep to the left on the initial run from "the tree" to the "café" (there's puddles on the right). It's pacer week tomorrow so may be a bit more competitive than normal.

Is it your local parkrun, or are you visiting?

Thanks for the information. This is my nearest park run - haven't been to one yet - I am SO slow, so a bit wary. I can't make it for a couple of weeks, but will certainly try to come next time I am free Saturday morning. I'm glad to hear it is mostly flat!!
