Yesterday I ran my 1st proper (excluding ParkRuns) race for charity. The Rathfarnham 5km is one of the few local races to me in Ireland, so with my wife and son watching on and supporting me I ran the race in a personal best time of 27:52. Was so happy with the result and my wife even said that she could see that determination in my eyes to get over the line. While I was a long way off a decent position, I was so happy to have competed in the race and considering that back in January I was barely able to run the 1 minute intervals that Laura was telling me to do, it again proves that the C25K works and works well.
Thanks again to all the team at NHS for the podcasts, and to you all for all the support you give to people on this forum on a day to day basis. Without you all us older struggling runners would not have the support we need to get out and run.
