New Shoes

Got these beauties today, the most money I have ever spent on new shoes of any type ! Brooks Ghost 8 OMG I just floated in them They replaced really cheap Karimoor Trail Shoes which have served me well but real road shoes should put less strain on my knees ! As in my previous post I went to Runners Need (Port Solent, Portsmouth) The staff were so helpful and knowledgeable They watched me run up and down in their shop many times as I am rubbish on the treadmill. My only criticism, they put the best shoes on first and everything else did not compare, oh well comfort is all that matters I did get the offer of price match or 10% off so not so bad

Yes I said to the girl it's like they were made for me can't wait to try them out now Did a Parkrun this morning so have resisted the temptation for another run

I have two pairs of cheap running shoes which are ok for now but when I run on grass,mother mesh on them allows all the water to soak my socks, even the "trail running shoes". Don't want to run on Tarmac all winter though 😐 Julie

They are objects of great beauty! As others have said, putting on the right running shoe is like putting on a slipper, a magic one at that! My own magic slippers are ASIC Gel Kayanos and they are so comfy. Enjoy your first run in them.😀

Lovely shoes! I've just gone the other way and bought some trail shoes and they are so stiff. Do you think they'll soften up eventually? I was fitted for them in an excellent running shop, but I certainly couldn't call them comfy yet!

They will flex a little bit more after good use, but not by much. If your running on trials or fields/grass areas you need the extra stiffness and grip.

New trainers - I never used to get excited about them but now I'm like a kid who got what they wanted from Santa!

Alexandra Sports in Portsmouth (just by the Mountbatten Centre) is always very good. They start with a bio mechanical analysis of your feet and posture, then have you run outside. They only go to the treadmill and gait analysis if it's not clear at that point. I also run in Brooks, I have the Adrenalines, they are extremely comfortable. So good I also bought some Brooks walking shoes.
