Swimming the English channel in local swimming pool

Hi everyone I have started my challenge of swimming 22 miles in my local swimming pool (English Channel) over the next 12 weeks. For a Charity called Aspire. They help people with spinal injuries.

I also thought this would be great help for cross training in between my runs.

I have swam 40 lengths of a 20 meter pool today = 0.5 miles.

This now gives me a fare idea of what I need to do now.

well done you! I did this a few years ago- awesomely good for you as well as for aspire :)

Yikes, that's a long way! Good luck with it. I bet you'll be super fit by the end. X

I did this last year. It gave me a real kick start to getting fitter. I did the Swimathon this year which was good too. I've kept up with the swimming. I go at least once a week - usually twice - and usually manage 1.5km a time which is 60 lengths of my local pool. I find it brilliant to improve upper body strength & stamina.
