Goodbye smoking hello running

Week 1 run 2 done. I think I may have another addiction but a healthy one. Went with all the family tonight inc Jess our dog (5th child). I absolutely loved it. There is a point in my route that is a really steep hill going down - I flew down it and I felt just like a kid again and had to stop myself jumping about at the bottom!

I'm not even going to pretend that it's all going to be this easy but I sincerely hope that I always feel this invigorated.

Bring on run 3.......

Your enthusiasm is contagious, thanks for making me smile. But.... Why did you stop yourself jumping about at the bottom of the hill? DO IT!!! I love celebrating my accomplishments at the end of each run with whooping and air-punching - I think that it's a common C25K habit that may be surprising for bystanders, but at least cheers up their day and even (maybe) makes them a tad jealous.

Giving up the fags is the BEST move you will ever make. I gave up the booze as well and can't believe the difference it made to my health. Good food too is a boon when you're trying to lose weight and get fit for running

Celebrating the end of each session is quite normal to C25kers. Go for it in any way you think appropriate. I used to do a dance of joy and throw some mad shapes, punching the air with a "yes, yes, yes". That sorta thing. I am a middle aged woman and therefore invisible so can get away with anything

I do like your comment about being invisible :) I am too - particularly for my teenagers, until they decide that I'm embarrassing, or that they need something.

Nice post. Well done.

5th child - like it. I think I'm the 3rd child in my family, according to my wife.
