Muscle ache behind thigh

Having never run or done any real exercise before I could do with a couple of tips.

Have just started Week 8 and I suspect that I've overdone it slightly. Last week I ran with my other half (who is much fitter than me) and as a result we ran more quickly than I am used to. Last night I got a bit carried away and ran further than I meant to!

My knees seemed to take the impact before but now seems to be my hips. Am also getting a muscle pain behind one thigh (when I've finished running) which is making sitting down the following day tricky!

Are there some specific cooling down or stretches I could do to help?

I'm *terrible* at stretching after a run - I tend to do my stretching exercises on non-running days but this is a pretty comprehensive list, if you have the time: nhs.uk/Livewell/c25k/Pages/...
