Yay...completed week 2 with a walk/waddle yesterday evening. Flies must have found some other warm blooded creature to harass, as I'm pleased to report a fly free outing :) Planning to start week 3 tomorrow. Have a good weekend all.

Some of the less vegan-tending c25k pilgrims must have gone before you along your route and eaten them all. Well done for reaching week 3.

Well done Debs !

Oh there were loads of midgies attacking me last night as I was walking home from work , little blighters ! :-)

Someone told me that Marmite repels mosquitoes , wonder if it works on flies too ?

Good Luck for Week 3 tomorrow, you are doing fab ! :-) xxx

Bugger. That'll teach me to read the whole post first. A smelly trip to the shower is in order. No flies though...

Vinegar help with midges hitches. My husband go eaten alive and used it. For me it was like walking next to an open packet of salt and vinegar chips.

Oil of citronella is supposed to be a good insect repellent - and it isn't quite as human repellent as vinegar! The Marmite thing is because of the Vitamin B 12 in it - it is supposed to change the way you smell, so you smell less tasty to the insects. Might be worth further investigation and possibly checking out Vit B pills which should have the same result, although I have read that a University of Wisconsin 2005 study concluded that this is just a myth. Shame - but Marmite still tastes great. When I was travelling some years back someone said that hanging a pair of stinking walking socks up in your tent was a mosquito repellent as they don't like the old sweat cheesy odour - I suspect if you hung these about your person to discourage mossies, you would get a personal best just from trying to escape the smell...
