They are - just round the corner from my house! The squirrel only made me jump because it appeared out of nowhere!!!

The last couple of years, I've found blackberries one of my routes from mid-July!! And that's in the centre of the city!

Hurrah for 30 minutes!

I live out in the sticks and don't normally see any til well into August. Mysterious!

And thanks for the hurrah!

A few ripe blackberries are appearing along my canal path, but they look a bit tough, too early. I think wait a bit for the sweeter ones to come out. In squirrel news, one nearly came in my bedroom window the other day - on the 2nd floor. It jumped off a nearby branch, dramatically scrabbled for a few seconds clinging to a tiny bit of window frame, then fell. I ran outside worried I'd find an injured or dead squirrel but it had gone, presumably scampered away unharmed!

Phew! I know the grey ones are rats with tails really but I do like them!
